Pultruded FRP Gratings

MComp® Pultruded FRP Gratings is an advanced gratings system using “T” shaped pultruded bearing bars held together by tie bar which provide mechanical lock and chemically bonded to the web of each bearing bar. It’s provides excellent uni-directional in strength and very good levels of corrosion resistance. The components (bearing bars and cross bars) which are pulled by machine, provide a higher glass to resin ratio content (70% glass to 30% resin) which gives it superior load capacity, yet reduces the corrosion resistance when compared to molded fiberglass grating.

The bearing and cross bars uses both longitudinal (glass roving) and multidirectional (glass mat), as well as synthetic surfacing veil. The continuous glass roving provides the bar strength and stiffness in the longitudinal direction while the continuous glass mat provides strength in transverse direction which prevent chipping, cracking and linear fracturing. The polyester synthetic surfacing veil will provide maximum corrosion resistance and protection from ultraviolet degradation.

Excellent Features

  • Corrosion Resistant
Fibre Reinforced Polymer materials are designed to operate in aggressive environments. Little or no coating or treating required as compare to steel.
  • Low maintenance requirements
Designed and engineered to last, composite structural materials are virtually maintenance free.
  • Non-conductive and Non metallic
FRP constructions provide additional safety by stopping sparks and potential electrical hazards.
  • Fire Retardant
FRP grating can be manufactured to meet low flame spread index when tested under ASTM E-84 and meets self extinguishing requirements of ASTM D-635.
  • High strength-to-weight ratio
Strong and light weight – an alternative where heavy lifting or access is an issue.
  • Reduced installation time and cost
FRP products are 65% lighter than steel. Therefore, it is easier and lighter to install. Normal ‘hand tools’ are used to make adjustments
  • Theft Deterrent
Recycle FRP products does not have commercial values

Resin System

Standard Polyester
An all purpose series utilizing an isophthalic polyester resin system and UN inhibitor. Does not comply with ASTM D-635 or UL 94V-0 fire rating.
Colour: Grey

Fire Retardant Polyester (FR)
An all purpose series also utilizing an isophthalic polyester and UV inhibitor but with built-in fire retardant additives. Complies with ASTM E-84 and the self extinguishing requirements of ASTM D-635 and UL 94V-0 fire rating.
Colour: Yellow

Vinyl Ester (VE)
A premium series which offers high corrosion resistance against alkalines. This series utilizes a vinyl ester system with U.V. Inhibitor
Colour: Green
